About Jaime Alvarez:
Jaime Alvarez is an artist living and working in Philadelphia. Born in Puerto Rico, Jaime moved to the United States in 1997 to study at the Rhode Island School of Design. After 2003, and spending two years working in New York as an assistant for various photographers, and volunteering in spaces such as the International Center of Photography, Jaime moved to Michigan to study at the Cranbrook Academy of Art for his MFA in Photography.
Most of Jaime’s work tells the story of places and objects with the essence of humanity. He uses photographic process, and installation to help guide the viewer through his ideas.
Since 2005 Jaime has been working in Philadelphia, and exhibiting through out the United States, Canada, and Puerto rico. His works have been collected by notable organizations such as Comcast, Drexel University, Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin Texas, and other private collectors.
