About Patrick Hay
"I have been working as an artist and art educator in Delaware County (Delco) all my life. I cannot recall a time when I wasn't making something. To be a maker is to connect. Making is an activity that connects to ones past, to one's environment, to ones people. By some blessing or twist of fate, I have been afforded the opportunity to spend time making things, and perhaps more importantly, teaching others how to make things.
My work is a narrative tinged with nostalgia. All my pieces contain a reference to a moment or event; whether it be embarrassing, sad, sweet or triumphant I can guarantee that they are all true. Growing up in Delco you learn that hard work is the answer to just about everything. What I present to my viewer is simply my hard work. It has taken me decades to figure it out. I sincerely hope you enjoy it."
