About Elizabeth Pratt
Elizabeth Pratt is a contemporary painter and collage artist whose work blends elements of representation and abstraction to invent alternate realities. She derives inspiration from various sources, combining her own photographs and drawings with found imagery to create collage-like works which exist outside of time or place. She assembles images at random, using intuition and chance as a kind of divination in order to allow the unknown to reveal itself through the work.
A native of North Carolina, she began painting and drawing at an early age. She holds a BFA from the University of Georgia, and has exhibited her work nationally over the past 20 years. She lives and works in Philadelphia.
