About Gerard Brown
'Gerard Brown is an artist and writer whose prints and paintings encode language and whose writing attempts to decipher images from mass culture. He has exhibited his work in one-person shows at Finlandia University, Hancock, MI, 5.4.7 Art Center, Greenburg, KS, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Philadelphia PA, and in numerous regional group shows. He's written numerous essays for exhibitions at venues including the PA Academy of Fine Arts and Moore College of Art and has curated exhibits for venues including the Center for Art in Wood, Bucks County Community College, and others. He is a recipient of a PA Council on the Arts Fellowship in Art Criticism and currently teaches at Tyler School of Art, where he serves as Chairperson of the Foundation Department.'
